I really like this band, they got such a sludgetastic coolness about them. TORPOR swagger in between sludge, metal, doom and post metal with ease as if they've been writing this fantastic noise forever. Found another fave band of mine. Darknight
Doom and Black Metal cling in dark embrace as they sink into the depths of thick Nordic Sludge. Only drums, guitar, vocals, the whole is infinitely greater than the sum of its parts, to stunning effect. Vocals are raw, visceral, primal. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, closer Perish manages to take it all to another level. An unforgiving terrain, no light, the wild night reigns. Their other bands, Tombstones & Sâver, are a must listen, too. Master of Alchemy
A fantastic debut showing from Baltimore metal band Born of Plagues, uniting post-metal's expansive textures with sludge's almighty muck. Bandcamp New & Notable May 19, 2021
Murky, bottom-heavy doomy metal that sucks you in and swallows you up. I love how the album moves from swamp as metaphor for the self-delusions that hold us back to bogs and the ancient remains they conceal within as pathways to deeper, terrifying spiritual awakenings that reveal the primeval horrors that lurk just at the edges of our consciousness.
